Since 2024, the Family Service Office has been participating in the nationwide National Reading Day through the series “Der VORLESUNGSTAG. University Professors Read to Preschoolers.” Professors from various institutes and departments at JGU switch from lecture mode to reading mode and read aloud to children ages 5 and up in one of JGU’s lecture halls.

SFB1552 members Pol Besenius and Shikha Dhiman read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle under the motto “Reading Aloud Speaks Your Language.” Pol Besenius read in French and Luxembourgish, while Shikha Dhiman read in English and Hindi.
