From Defects to Effects in Soft Matter
June 17–19, Mainz

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the conference “From Defects to Effects in Soft Matter” (FDTE) at JGU Mainz in June 2026.
The conference will take place from June 17-19 in the Alte Mensa on the JGU Mainz campus.

The topics of the conference are directly linked to the three cornerstones of SFB1552 research and are: Doping Defects, Connectivity Defects, and Topology Defects.

We will hear many interesting talks from our great invited speakers Lisa Tran, Julia Kalow, Teresa Lopéz-Léon, David Weitz, Bradley D. Olsen, Heike Bunjes, Ryan Hayward, Mark Tibbitt and Ulrich Wiesner. We are very looking forward to their insights into defects in soft matter.

There will also be the opportunity to apply for a few talks in addition to the poster session that will take place.
